Scotland's South West - Dunure

From Dunure Castle we had views along Dunure Beach back towards the harbour and across Ayr Bay. One of the more horific stories from the 1500s tell of Gilbert Kennedy roasting alive the Commendator of Crossraguel on these grounds in order to gain some of the Abbey lands. He gave in quickly and lived to tell the tale.
